Dr. Patel is a leading voice in CEREC® by Sirona CAD/CAM restorative dentistry. In this article, Dr. Patel explains one of the leading trends in conservative dentistry, “crownlays” – crown and onlay hybrids. He also provides an excellent case report that highlights his treatment plan step-by-step.
Quoting from the article:
Crownlays should be chosen by more clinicians as an alternative to complete coverage crowns whenever appropriate, as they are more conservative in nature. The supragingival margins on crownlays are healthier for the gingival tissue and their esthetics can be on par with complete coverage restorations. With the help of the CEREC Omnicam, it is easier than ever to fabricate and deliver these restorations same day without the need for an impression, temporary restoration, and second visit.
