100 Wells for Ethiopia Receives Cause Marketing Halo Award as a Top 2013 Campaign

(PDS®) The Smile Generation & charity: water were honored with a GOLD Cause Marketing Halo Award in the Best Message-Focused Campaign category at the 12th Annual Cause Marketing Forum Conference on May 29 in Chicago. A total of 18 awards were given out to programs judged to be the best at Doing Well by Doing Good in 2013.

PDS and The Smile Generation kicked off the “100 Wells for Ethiopia” marketing campaign with the intent of raising $1 million to fund the building of 100 wells for people in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. One hundred percent of the generous donations given to 100 Wells for Ethiopia went directly to nonprofit partner charity: water to build sustainable, community-owned water projects.

At the end of the campaign, PDS and Smile Generation team members raised more than $1.3 million for charity: water, funding 131 wells that will provide clean, safe drinking water to nearly 33,000 people in Tigray, Ethiopia.
