World Water Day March 22nd
Today is World Water Day. It’s been a little over two and a half years since we did our first drive with charity: water The Smile Generation raised $13,000 and provided clean drinking water to three villages in Ethiopia. Since then, we’ve raised $92,000 to help the Haitian Village of Kampech. PDS employees raised $30,000 to have the opportunity to wear Smile Gen t-shirts on Friday. And just last year, as part of the September campaign, we raised $70,777 towards a new drilling rig. All in all, we have donated $467,215. That money has provided clean drinking water to 23,360 people. If you took all of those people and invited them to a Justin Bieber (who, by the way, is our charity: water friend) concert at the Staples Center, you would have 3,000 people who would sadly be turned away.
But we’re not stopping now. The two new rigs that charity: water has purchased will allow them to drill 80 new wells a year which will change 80,000 lives for the next 15 years.
All of those stats are awesome, but we can ALL do more. We will continue to donate to charity:water for each CEREC CAD/CAM restoration completed and here’s how you can help. As part of World Water Day, charity: water is asking everyone to give up their birthday to help raise money to provide clean drinking water around the world. Remember, water changes everything!
