California Wildfire Fundraiser
Irvine, CA (November 30, 2007) – During a 5 week fundraiser Pacific Dental Services (PDS), along with 40 of its affiliated dental offices, raised over $5,500 for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to benefit the victims of the California Wildfires. PDS Employees also volunteered and donated various relief items.
PDS answered the call to the California Wildfires by placing donation boxes at all of their affiliated offices throughout California, Nevada and Arizona. In addition to collecting monetary donations, many PDS affiliated offices distributed toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and other items for those evacuated from their homes.
Jennifer Grimwood, Outreach Coordinator said, “The response was incredible. Within hours, phone calls and emails came in from PDS employees who wanted to donate items, offer temporary housing, and volunteer in any capacity. Our patients and employees that experienced losses from the fires were inundated with in-kind donations. All of the families were surprised and grateful at the gifts and service donations. Offices were also excited to support the efforts of the American Red Cross by being individual monetary donation sites the benefit the California Wildfires. Seeing the immediate front-line response of our employees was a poignant reminder of how much impact we can have in our communities when we come together!”
