PACIFIC DENTAL SERVICES GIVES BACK IN 2011
In 2011 Pacific Dental Services affiliated offices donates over $1.5 million in pro bono dentistry
IRVINE, Calif. (January 23rd, 2012)– Pacific Dental Services (PDS) – In these tough economic times it is even more important for organizations to give back and that’s exactly what Pacific Dental Services did in 2011. PDS affiliated offices donated more than $1.5 million in pro bono dentistry. Most of that was accomplished as part of the offices’ participation in Smile Generation Serve Day where over 140 offices and over 350 dentists provided a variety of dental services.
But that’s not all, Pacific Dental Services donated over $337,000 to their giving partner, charity: water to provide clean drinking water to people around the world. Donations were given according to various treatments performed in their affiliated dental offices. Through these actions they were able to provide clean drinking water to over 16,850 people.
Also last November, over 200 PDS volunteers and affiliated dentists gathered in San Bernardino, CA at Casa Ramona Academy to create an impact on the local community. Partnering with the non-profit, KaBoom, PDS was able to build a playground for the school and provide nearly $80,000 in donated dental services.
“My hope is that all companies build a social purpose into their operations that’s as important as their economic purpose,” said Founder, President, and CEO Stephen Thorne. “Leaders of successful companies should be thinking about building an Enduring Institution as much as thinking about hitting the quarterly numbers.”
