Bridget Ottman - Registered Dental Hygienist

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with an outstanding PDS®-supported clinician by the name of Bridget Ottman. Bridget is a rising star in dentistry and has been recognized as a top Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). Her coworkers call her incredibly compassionate towards her patients and willing to go above and beyond for them. Bridget was able to cast some light on what it is like to work as an RDH at a PDS-supported office. What follows is our Q&A session:

Sean Swentek: Hi Bridget. Please start by telling us a little about yourself.

Bridget Ottman: Hello! My name is Bridget Ottman and I work at PDS-supported Hemet Dental Group and Orthodontics in Hemet, CA as a Registered Dental Hygienist. I have been with the office for nearly a year now.

SS: What would you say is the best part about working at this office?

BO: I love working there because they care about their staff and are always encouraging growth. It is so rewarding to be supported by an organization that challenges you and helps you to become a better clinician. Continuing education courses are also readily available to clinicians, and the office is always up-to-date with modern technology. I love working at such an advanced dental office, which still adheres to many important core values that are demonstrated daily by our team.

SS: Is there anything that sets your PDS-supported office apart from others?

BO: PDS is unique in that they look at a dental office from two points of view: the clinician and the patient. PDS believes first and foremost in the patient and his/her comfort with their dental care. I feel daily that we are not only delivering exceptional care, but we are building relationships with our patients that will last a lifetime.

SS: PDS is very active in charitable giving through the PDS Serve Foundation® and Smile Generation® sponsored events. What causes have you been a part of that were memorable?

BO: Our office has participated in several charitable events, most recently the “100 Wells for Ethiopia” campaign with charity: water. It was incredibly rewarding to join in with our patients in donating to such an important cause. Many of our patients felt a strong connection to the mission and would often check-in to see if we had met our fundraising goal. I feel very blessed to work for a company that puts an emphasis on helping others year-round.

SS: Tell us about your life outside of the office, if you will.

BO: When I’m away from work, I try to spend as much time as possible with my family, doing anything outdoorsy. I have ridden horses since I was just a toddler, and still enjoy it to this day.

SS: Thanks so much for your time today Bridget. Take care.

BO: It was my pleasure.
